When we think of a gift, we usually picture an item carefully and thoughtfully picked out then neatly wrapped in a beautiful and colorful package topped with an equally colorful bow. Those can be gifts of the moment or occasion.
The gift I am referring to is one that God has given to you to share with others. Something that only you could provide and can't be purchased in any store.
Mom and Dad have been given many gifts in their lifetime, and they have shared their gifts and touched so many other lives throughout their lifetime.
From the day they met to the day their firstborn joined them. They gave the gift of life that was followed by four more other children. Together, they nurtured all of their children to adulthood so that their children could one day start families of their own.
Other gifts they gave to many other people. One in particular was sign language. They had both gone to college to learn more about the art of sign because they found how beautiful it was to express your feelings and have conversations without uttering a word. As a result, they took their talent and shared it with their church by signing to songs that they would sing.
Other talents and gifts that they had shared was the gift of giving to others. They found it in their hearts to not keep their lives only to themselves, but to open their home to many people that would cross their paths.
So many times, I would hear them say that their are having guests over for dinner and they would spend a few days preparing for them with a meal and entertainment fit for kings. Mom and Dad have been very giving people all their lives and for that, they have shared many gifts blessed to them by God and touched so many people with their love and kindness.
So, what gift from God have you given?
